The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) conducted by The College Board is widely used by over 4000 institutions in USA and other countries such as Canada, Singapore, UK for admissions onto the undergraduate programs. The test is designed to measure the your literacy and numeracy through mathematical, reading and writing assessments, that are required for academic success on a undergraduate program at the academic institution.
SAT Test Format
The format for the SAT Exam was recently changed from the traditional pen and paper format to digital format, where you will be able to take the test online using a digital device. The duration and the pattern of the test was also restructured to make the test more relevant for the assessing institutions.
The Digital SAT test is conducted over 2 hours 14 mins OR 2 hours and 24 mins including break time between sections. There are 2 modules under each section, and the exam follows a ‘section-level adaptive format’ where the level of difficulty on the second module is determined by your performance on the first module of the same section.
Reading and Writing Section
2 modules with 27 Ques each – 64 mins in Total (32 mins each module)The Reading and Writing section under the Digital SAT exam, follows short paragraph-style passages with one question from each passage, answered from multiple choices. The section covers passages on multitude of topics including literature, history, social sciences, humanities and science, and tests your ability and four major content areas of standard English conventions; expression of ideas; information and ideas; and craft and structure. The section is scored on a range of 200-800.
Mathematics Section
2 modules with 22 Ques each – 70 mins in Total (35 mins each module)The Mathematics section of the Digital SAT exam, follows a mix of multiple choice questions and questions that ask you to enter the answer instead of choosing it. The questions cover broad range of topics on mathematics such as algebra, advanced maths, problem solving, data analytics, geometry and trigonometry and is also scored on a range of 200-800.
