International students intending to study in Switzerland for a duration of more than 90 days must apply for a Student Visa called the Type D and Type C Visa for courses of less than 90 days in duration.

Work Opportunity
Part Time Work
As an international student in Switzerland, you may work part-time after informing Cantonal Immigration Office about your work.
15 hours (30 hours in some Cantons like Geneva) a week during term time and Full-Time during vacation
Besides part-time work, international students have plenty of opportunities to take up internships and training as a part of their course.
Post-Study Work
As an international student you are allowed to stay back in Switzerland for 6 months after completion of the course, to find a job. You can work part-time during these 6 months of job search. This VISA cannot be renewed. However, once you find a job, your employer is responsible for applying for your work permit.
