The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), is a preferred test for admissions to business and management courses including MBA across the world. The exam is designed in a way so as to test your skills and ability towards their suitability for a business school program. It is a computer adaptive exam and evaluates skills such as the analytical writing, problem solving abilities, data sufficiency, logical reasoning, critical reasoning skills and integrated reasoning that are essential to the real- world business and management victory.
The GMAT exam is widely used by more than 7700 programs offered by more than 2400 institutions and Universities in over 100 countries with testing in over 600 test centers around the world.
Test Format
The test is divided in 4 sections i.e. 80 questions, that must be completed in 3 hours 7 minutes i.e 3 hours 30 minutes including breaks and test instructions.Analytical Writing
1 Ques – 30 MinsUnder this question, you will discuss in an essay form whether you find a given argument well-reasoned. You are required to analyze the statement presented and provide your reasoning with evidences and examples.
Integrated Reasoning
12 Ques – 30 MinsThis section tests your ability to integrate data to solve a complex problem through four types of questions – Multi-source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation, and Two-Part Analysis. The questions involve both verbal and quantitative reasoning, used together or separately.
Quantitative Reasoning
31 Ques – 62 MinsThrough Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency questions, this section tests your logic and analytical skills with some knowledge of arithmetic, elementary algebra and common concepts of geometry.
Verbal Reasoning
36 Ques – 65 MinsThis section tests your capability to read and comprehend written material, reason, evaluate arguments, and correct written material to express ideas effectively in standard written (US) English. This is done through three types of questions i.e. Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning and Sentence Correction.
